چکیده
Abstract The current study investigated body roll amplitude and timing of its peak in backstroke compared them with front crawl swimming. Nineteen anatomical landmarks were digitised using 80 swimming trial videos (ten swimmers × two techniques four intensities) recorded by above- below-water cameras. One upper-limb cycle was analysed for each trial, shoulder hip roll, whole-body ( WBR ), due to the buoyant torque BT ) obtained. Main effects intensity technique on reach those variables assessed two-way repeated-measures ANOVA. Swimmers decreased their an increase both (p ? 0.005). same result observed , only 0.017). maintained techniques, while they shifted toward beginning when increasing In conclusion, maintain increases, whereas reduce all rolls crawl.

Shoulder and hip roll differences between breathing and non-breathing conditions in front crawl swimming.
The effects of breathing on body roll have been previously investigated for the roll of the whole trunk only. The purposes of this study were: to calculate separately the shoulder roll (SR) and hip roll (HR) of swimmers during front crawl for non-breathing and preferred-side breathing conditions; to assess the differences in the magnitude and temporal characteristics of these variables between ...
متن کاملMarkerless analysis of front crawl swimming.
Research on motion analysis of swimmers is commonly based on video recordings of the subject's motion, which are analyzed by manual digitization of feature points by an operator. This procedure has two main drawbacks: it is time-consuming, and it is affected by low repeatability. Therefore, the application of video-based, automatic approaches to motion analysis was investigated. A video-based, ...
متن کاملRelationship between sprint performance of front-crawl swimming and muscle fascicle length in young swimmers
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between sprint performance of front-crawl swimming and muscle fascicle length in 23 male young swimmers. The sample was divided into two groups by 25-m sprint front-crawl swimming performance: 14.6-15.7 s (S1, n=11) and 15.8-17 s (S2, n=12). Muscle thickness and pennation angle and fascicle length of the Biceps Brachii (only muscle t...
متن کاملThe determination of drag in front crawl swimming.
The measurement of drag while swimming (i.e. active drag) is a controversial issue. Therefore, in a group of six elite swimmers two active drag measurement methods were compared to assess whether both measure the same retarding force during swimming. In method 1 push-off forces are measured directly using the system to measure active drag (MAD-system). In method 2 (the velocity perturbation met...
متن کاملThe relationship between some of anthropometrical and biomechanical parameters, front and back crawl swimming in girl’s swimmers
Since the anthropometric and biomechanical parameters role is effective in improving the quality of sports skills, researchers and sports scientists are interesting to identify and communicate between these factors. The purpose of this study was making relationship between some of anthropometrical and biomechanical parameter of girl swimmers in swimming breast strokes. Twenty girl Swimmers (mea...
